U12
Dromore Villa beat Manor Rangers 1 – 0. The match was played in very windy conditions, with Dromore Villa playing against the wind in the first half. It was difficult to play good football, but Villa created a few chances and the game remained scoreless at half time. Manor Rangers defended well in the second half, but some good passing and movement created a chance for Villa with Fionn Connolly and Cahan Hallinan linking up well together in forwards and Cahan Hallinan scoring the only game of the match. There were some good displays from Dromore Villa from Gavin Connolly at the back and Paul Clarke in midfield which should stand to them well for the next match.
Sligo Pallets Premier League
Dromore Villa heightened Merville United’s relegation woes at Villa Park with goals from Michael Connolly, James Hynes and Stephen Feeney insuring the points. Merville battled hard and Cian Mc Keown cracked home a fine goal but the day belonged to the Villa.
On a sad note Dromore Villa F.C. extend sympathy to the family of Mary Jordan who passed away recently, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.

Dromore Villa recorded their biggest win of the season at Cleveragh with an eight goal demolition job on Gurteen Celtic. Manager Michael Hynes was delighted with this blistering display by his young charges. Fergal Kilgallon claimed four goals in a most impressive manner Gary and James Hynes each added a goal along with Keith Lang and Stephen Feeney for a jubilant Villa.
Well done to our U8, U10 & U12 players who took part in the Dromore West St Patricks Day Parade, thanks to the parents who supervised and well done to the organising committee for a well ran and very enjoyable day for all who took part or watched on.
U-12’s
Dromore Villa played Real Tubber on the Bank Holiday Monday in Dromore and lost 3 – 4. The match was played in windy conditions with Villa playing against the wind in the first half.
Villa scored first with some good movement down the wing from Paul Clarke to score the first goal, but Real Tubber quickly replied. It was hard to play good football with the windy conditions. At half-time the teams were level at 2 – 2. Villas 3rd goal came from a great run from Paul Clarke in midfield and he finished it off well. We conceded a penalty late in the second half which Real Tubber scored to make it 3 – 4. Villa tried hard to get back on even terms but Tubber defended well, some fine displays from Dromore Villa from Paul Clarke in midfield, Simon Mullarkey in goals and Shane O'Brien in defence.

On a sad note Dromore Villa F.C. extend sympathy to the family of John Lynagh who died tragically over the weekend, our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

Girls U-18’s
Villa U-18 girls recorded their second win of the season defeating Strand Celtic 2 – 1. Played in blustery conditions Villa had most of the possession in the first half and playing against the breeze they took the lead late in the first half when Megan Duffy fired in from close range following a free kick that was cleared out to her. Villa increased their lead after the restart when Aoife Connolly set up Lisa Kilgannon who took the shot from just outside the box. Sloppy Villa defending allowed Strand back into the game. This seemed to spur Dromore Villa on and a great strike from Marie Ruane brought an equally great save from the Strand keeper.
Our U10s played a challenge V Strand Celtic on Saturday in Sligo Rovers astro pitch, as it is non competitive scores/results are not recorded but I think its fair to say our boys and girls came home the happier!!!

Community Park Update
The past week has seen a lot of work taking place with the reseeded pitches being cut for the first time this year. The grass is knitting in well and with regular cutting should fill in even better. On Saturday there was a major clean up of the car park area, all the stone/clay was removed and the car park was covered with a coat of maintenance. The water issue was sorted out and a general tidy up was carried out. Thanks to all who helped out and we look forward to when the pitches will be in full use later this year.
