Games Played 27th/28th November

U14 side had a home game to Tuam Celtic on Saturday, on a bitterly cold morning it was a disappointing first half with Villa behind by 3 at half time. Tuam scored a further 3 in the 2nd half but the Villa lads didn't give up and threatened the Tuam goal on several occasions and were unlucky not put a few in the net. The consolation goal was scored from Iarla Connor. League game away to Yeats next Saturday.

Villa u-16 side had a Connacht Shield Match away to Killala on Saturday 27th.A goal from Ryan Burns after 10 minutes put Villa ahead but Killala replied soon after and we trailed 2-1 at the break.Despite fine displays from Cormac Hallinan , Jim Kilgannon in defence and Jimmy Kilgannon between the posts the final score was Killala 4 Dromore Villa 1.

The Club would like to thank Sligo Rovers for bringing the FAI Cup to The Still in Dromore West on Sunday 28th especially Conor O Grady,Alan Keane and Joseph Ndo who attended. Thanks also to Michael Clarke and all the staff in The Still for hosting the night and for the refreshments served.

Villa’s underage players enjoyed their company and got autographs and photos with the cup and the Rovers players on the night, the lads were very generous with their time and for this we are very grateful. U12 Cubs

U12 Cubs played a home game v Real Tubber on Saturday 20th and after a great game were unlucky to be beaten 2-1. We went a goal behind but equalised with a goal from Eunan Curran to leave a 1-1 scoreline at half-time.in a great second half with a few good chances Daniel Cuffe was denied a certain goal by a header off the line .Tubber scored a 2nd midway through the second half and despite some good pressure from Villa the equaliser didn’t come..

In the Sligo Pallets Premier League we had an away game to Arrow Harps, a very entertaining and competetive game where both teams went out to play good football, we probably had the better of the chances on the day but had to be satisfied with a 1 - 1 draw, another away game this weeked when we travel to Coolera rovers at 11am Sunday.

Some of the Cup winning Sligo Rovers team will visit Dromore West this Sunday night at 9pm,they will have the FAI Ford Cup with them and will be available for photos and signing autographs so come along and show your appreciation for a great season of football and entertainment that they gave us in 2010.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SLIGO ROVERS ON WINNING THE FAI FORD CUP FROM DROMORE VILLA F.C.

Game played weekend 13th/14th November.

The only Villa team in action due to the Ford FAI Cup Final were the U14 boys who had a home game on Saturday to Merville and despite going a goal down fought back scoring 3 goals only to be held to a draw as Merville scored an injury time equalizer. Villa goals - Trevor Kilgannon was pushed over in the box but dusted himself down to put away the resulting penalty, Finnian Cawley scored from a great in swinging corner that only Ciaran Kelly would have kept out. Both teams played good quality attacking football and great credit is due to U14 managers James Hynes and Eoin Conlon for the positive attitude throughout the team.
