Sligo Rovers and the FAI Cup visit to Dromore Villa, The Still Bar 28th Nov 2010
Games Played 27th/28th November
U14 side had a home game to Tuam Celtic on Saturday, on a bitterly cold morning it was a disappointing first half with Villa behind by 3 at half time. Tuam scored a further 3 in the 2nd half but the Villa lads didn't give up and threatened the Tuam goal on several occasions and were unlucky not put a few in the net. The consolation goal was scored from Iarla Connor. League game away to Yeats next Saturday.
Villa u-16 side had a Connacht Shield Match away to Killala on Saturday 27th.A goal from Ryan Burns after 10 minutes put Villa ahead but Killala replied soon after and we trailed 2-1 at the break.Despite fine displays from Cormac Hallinan , Jim Kilgannon in defence and Jimmy Kilgannon between the posts the final score was Killala 4 Dromore Villa 1.
The Club would like to thank Sligo Rovers for bringing the FAI Cup to The Still in Dromore West on Sunday 28th especially Conor O Grady,Alan Keane and Joseph Ndo who attended. Thanks also to Michael Clarke and all the staff in The Still for hosting the night and for the refreshments served.
Villa’s underage players enjoyed their company and got autographs and photos with the cup and the Rovers players on the night, the lads were very generous with their time and for this we are very grateful. To see the Sky Sports report on Sligo rovers go to youtube and type sligo rovers sky piece 27 Nov 2010.

games played 20th/21st November
U12 Cubs
U12 Cubs played a home game v Real Tubber on Saturday 20th and after a great game were unlucky to be beaten 2-1. We went a goal behind but equalised with a goal from Eunan Curran to leave a 1-1 scoreline at half-time.in a great second half with a few good chances Daniel Cuffe was denied a certain goal by a header off the line .Tubber scored a 2nd midway through the second half and despite some good pressure from Villa the equaliser didn’t come..
In the Sligo Pallets Premier League we had an away game to Arrow Harps, a very entertaining and competetive game where both teams went out to play good football, we probably had the better of the chances on the day but had to be satisfied with a 1 - 1 draw, another away game this weeked when we travel to Coolera rovers at 11am Sunday.
Some of the Cup winning Sligo Rovers team will visit Dromore West this Sunday night at 9pm,they will have the FAI Ford Cup with them and will be available for photos and signing autographs so come along and show your appreciation for a great season of football and entertainment that they gave us in 2010.

Game played weekend 13th/14th November.
The only Villa team in action due to the Ford FAI Cup Final were the U14 boys who had a home game on Saturday to Merville and despite going a goal down fought back scoring 3 goals only to be held to a draw as Merville scored an injury time equalizer. Villa goals - Trevor Kilgannon was pushed over in the box but dusted himself down to put away the resulting penalty, Finnian Cawley scored from a great in swinging corner that only Ciaran Kelly would have kept out. Both teams played good quality attacking football and great credit is due to U14 managers James Hynes and Eoin Conlon for the positive attitude throughout the team.

Notes for games played weekend 6th/7th November
U12 Cubs played a strong St Johns side and were well beaten on the day, they played with only 10 players for the entire match but put up a brave display, Sean Hallinan had a great game in goal and made some fine saves, new players are always welcome.
U12 team travelled to Manorhamilton on Saturday and a hat trick from Rory McHugh, a goal each from Eunan Curran and Andrew Kilcullen and a great game in goal from Kieran Devaney gave Villa a win on a score of 5 goals to 1.
U16's were away to Coolaney Utd and despite a competitive game were beaten 4 goals to 1, Villa's goal was scored by Conor Finnegan.
On Sunday in The Sligo Pallets Premier League Dromore Villa were victorious over Cartron Utd on a scoreline of 3 goals to 2. 2 goals from Fergal Kilgannon and 1 from David Culkin sealed the result helped by some fine saves by keeper Sean Healy, next game on Sunday week the 21st away to Arrow Harps at 11am.

Dromore Villa cubs hosted Yeats Cubs but were well beaten on the day.
In the U14 Connaught Shield Dromore Villa travelled to Bunninadden to play Gurteen and were the victors on a scoreline of 4 goals to 2 and now go on to the next round.
The U16s get through to the next round in the same competition without kicking a ball at the weekend as Ballinagare were unable to field a team and didnt travel.
The Junior team travelled to neighbours Kilglass/Enniscrone on Sunday but went down 3 goals to 2 in a very competitive local derby.

U12's lost 4 - 3 to Multyfarnham, after a disappointing first half a second half hat trick from Rory McHugh just wasn't enough as a late winner sees Multyfarnham go on to the next round of the Norton Cup.
In the U14 Goodison Cup a Yeats Utd were 7 - o winners in a game where we had few chances but did't give up till the final whistle, hopefully an away game to Gurteen Celtic next weekend will see a better result.
In a "game of 2 halves" Villa Mens team who were 3 - 1 up at half time saw a dramatic turn around in the 2nd half to lose 5 - 3, 2 first half goals from Fergal Kilgannon and 1 from Keith Lang put Villa in a strong half time position but coolaney took all 3 points at the end.
An away game to local rivals Kilglass/Enniscrone next Sunday should be an entertaining local derby and all support would be greatly appreciated.

The Junior team were away to Real Tubber and in a well contested match come out on top 3 goals to 2 in a 5 goal thriller. 2 goals from Fergal Kilgannon and 1 from Keith Lang sealed the victory. A similar performance this weekend when we are at home to Carrick Town would see a deserved improvement in our league position.
